Quilt!

This is the first quilt I have made since the one I had to make in Home Ec. I should rephrase. I have made about 4 quilt tops in the past 10 years, but they normally just get cut out, a couple pieces sewn, and then I give up. This one I know I will finish. The pattern is Amy Butler’s Puzzle Quilt, found here for free, and I’m resizing it for a queen bed.

So far, I’ve only spent $10 on the fabric for the pieced blocks.

The border fabric, backing, and batting are all from my stash, and Ive spent about $15 on thread, quilt binding, needles and bobbins. I think that’s a huge accomplishment for me, since my fabric collection is huge and crazy. I started cutting and piecing on Sunday, and by yesterday, all my blocks are done.

The only setback is that I have to get the tension fixed on my machine, so I don’t think I’ll be able to finish this before spring break is over. Oh well.
