My central park cardigan is sooooo close to being finished, and yet its taking a whole lot of self control not to cast on 5 more projects. I’ve been trying to fool myself into thinking that I don’t have that many things on the needles by changing the status from “in progress” to “hibernating” in my Ravelry notebook. That way when I log in I’m not confronted by the 15 things I cast on and abandoned this year.
I also can’t buy anymore yarn for a while. I’m serious this time. I placed a webs order and got yarn for the DNA sweater, as well as some coned fingering weight wool for a fair isle sweater design I have in my head.
After a lot of notes and charting, I was able to come up with a really sweet looking cable design, and a pretty bitchin’ swatch.
I also placed a Knit Picks order for the Ivy League Vest in the latest Interweave Knits.
I liked all the colors except “teal” (bottom left). That doesn’t look like teal to me, but it did look like teal on both my work and home monitors. It isn’t a big enough contrast from the ivy, so I substituted some nature spun fingering in nervous green from my stash for the swatch, and I love it. Its a nice khaki green.
I’m in love with this swatch and I’m trying really hard to finish the central park cardigan before I cast on. I plan on doing plain ribbing in ivy since I really don’t enjoy the look, or the knitting of corrugated ribbing. I’m really excited about this vest, I may need to go buy a white blouse with puff sleeves to wear under it too.
