I found this via Ravelry and I’m going to start knitting this evening.

Thank you so much for sharing it with the knitting world.

Can you clarify the CKD? I can’t figure out what you are doing there.

  5. Ashley says:

Put the right needle into the second stitch on the left needle, then the first. Then you slip the first stitch on the right needle back on the left, knit 2 together, then slip the second stitch on the right needle over the 2 stitches that were knitted together. Its similar to a ssk, only the center stitch will be on top instead of the right.

  6. Ashley says:

Actually its not supposed to be like a ssk, its like slip one knitwise, k2tog, pass slipped stitch over. The only difference is that I swapped the stitch that will be on top.

Heres a tutorial on the center double decrease with photos. http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/766
In case I’m not explaining it well.

Beautiful hat! I’d love to try this pattern, I’m still not understanding the CKD but I’ll try the suggested tutorial. I don’t see where you switch from size 6 to size 8 needles though, can you explain that? Thanks!

  9. Ashley says:

I switched to size 8 needles after the ribbing.
