Christmas knitting

I’ve actually been getting alot of knitting done now that I don’t have a paper due every week. After alot of contemplating I’ve decided to knit my mom something for christmas. My other ideas were way too ambitious but I’m happy with the project I’ve chosen. Its the cable front cardigan from vogue knitting holiday 04. I’m using wool ease chunky from the stash (yay) in wood, and its going extremely fast. I started the back on Thursday, finished it Saturday (with work, class, and playing the new xbox 360) and started the front Saturday and finished Sunday. At this rate I’m in really good shape, and should probably finish this weekend. The garter stitch band on the front needs a good block (which isn’t really possible in the yarn I chose… boo) and its pulling the length down a bit.

I also started a christmas stocking for myself, and I’ll knit Russell one when I’m done. Its knit with 5 colors of wool from my stash (I’m trying very hard) and I’m in love with the pink/green/blue/white/tan combo.

Finished: Green Striped Socks

Pattern: My own toe up pattern
Yarn: Regia Crazy Color #05264, Jungle. I used all the yarn I could, a nice advantage of the toe up method.

After seeing what I can accomplish by only knitting one thing at a time, I’m going to knit more socks.
